LG Wins Dozens of Awards at the iF Design Awards

TECH NEWS – LG Electronics (LG) has won 36 awards at the 2025 International Forum (iF) Design Award, one of the world’s most renowned design competitions. Among the company’s numerous accolades is the Gold Award for best design, which was awarded to LG’s new transparent TV, the LG SIGNATURE OLED T.

The iF Design Award, held annually in Germany, is one of the world’s most important industrial design competitions, along with the Red Dot Award and the International Design Excellence Award (IDEA). The iF Design Award recognizes outstanding design achievements in nine categories – Product, Communication, User Experience (UX), User Interface (UI), Packaging, Interior Design, Professional Concept, Architecture and Service Design.
This year, the groundbreaking LG SIGNATURE OLED T, the world’s first transparent and truly wireless* 4K OLED TV, received the Gold Award in the Product category. The OLED T can transform from transparent to a traditional screen, offering both a perfect TV viewing experience and greater freedom in home decoration. In traditional mode, the television is ideal for content consumption and gaming: its 77-inch 4K resolution OLED screen offers deep blacks, vivid colors, sharp details and an ultra-fast response time. In transparent mode, the device makes spaces more open and spacious, and can even display translucent digital artwork that creates the effect of floating in the air.
In addition to the OLET T, 27 other LG innovations were recognized in the Product Category. The award-winning products include the LG AI Home smart home hub and the LG Smart Home AI Agent, a mobile smart home center that can interact with users. The LG QNED TV, with its sleek and sophisticated design, and the LG StanbyME 2 television with a unique removable stand were also recognized. One of the company’s major appliances also earned the jury’s recognition: the LG SIGNATURE Smart InstaView refrigerator was replaced with a transparent OLED display, allowing users to see inside the appliance without opening the door.
The company’s products were also recognized in the Communication, User Experience (UX), User Interface (UI), and Packaging categories. These include the LG ThinQ Character, which communicates with users in a friendly, human-like way within the ThinQ app, and LG Iconography, which allows users to quickly and conveniently see all the features and services offered by connected LG products in one place.

“We are constantly pushing the boundaries of design with our innovations. “By deepening our understanding of customers, we always strive to ensure that our products, services and user experiences always follow the needs of consumers,” said Chung Wook-jun, head of LG Electronics’ corporate design center.
