Scarlett Johansson Wouldn’t Have Minded Being Eaten by a Dinosaur

MOVIE NEWS – The grand opening of Jurassic World: Rebirth was one of the biggest attractions at this year’s CinemaCon, one of America’s largest film events organized by movie theater operators. The film’s stars, Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali, and director Gareth Edwards made an appearance and let the audience in on some of the studio’s secrets, not skimping on the jokes. The opening act was performed by a live symphony orchestra, playing John Williams’ well-known theme music.

Scarlett Johansson said she had wanted to be in a Jurassic movie her whole life, to which Edwards added, “it was just too expensive.” The director also admitted that he had always wanted to make a dinosaur movie, and that he was proud to work with an Oscar winner in Ali. “Double,” the actor corrected, to which Edwards corrected: “sorry, two-time Oscar winner.” (Mahershala Ali won the Academy Award for Green Book: A Guide to Life and Moonlight.)

Johansson also said that after waiting 15 long years to finally be thrown in front of the dinosaurs, he turned to the father of the series, Steven Spielberg, to draw attention to himself. “I told her I’d take any role, even if I got eaten by dinosaurs in the first five minutes.”

The actress pointed out that in Jurassic World: Rebirth they tried to make it a little scary again. This was confirmed by the trailer shown after the introduction, which seems to make everything even more dangerous, because a mutant T-Rex is trying to kill the characters. At the same time, the creators also maxed out the cuteness factor: the heroes save a baby dinosaur that a toothy predator has chosen as a snack.

In Jurassic World: Rebirth, dinosaurs, decimated by climate change, live on an island far from civilization. A special team sets out to obtain DNA samples from three specimens, as they could be used to create a life-saving drug that could be the key to humanity’s survival. However, the team, led by Zora Bennett (Johansson), not only discovers previously unknown prehistoric reptiles, but also a secret that is being guarded from the world.
