Earlier, we saw the Belgian Sony site, which said that Project Morpheus, Sony‘s virtual reality headset might get a new name, which might be PlayStation RealEyes – which sounds a bit stupid in our opinion. Thankfully, this is not the new name which was unveiled during Tokyo Game Show, and the new name for the headset is…
…PlayStation VR. This is also a somewhat generic name, but it still sounds better than RealEyes. Although we don’t really understand why Sony didn’t keep the Project Morpheus name. Sure, they say that the new experience is directly expressed in the name, plus it’s also obvious what the product offers… but really, this name feels somewhat tired.
Project Morpheus – according to the earlier cited Belgian Sony site – might be out in January already, but we are highly doubting that. Maybe during the summer, we’ll see. Hopefully, there’s going to be a PlayStation 4 Morpheus bundle, just to keep this name alive. PS4+Camera+PlayStation VR – would make sense, maybe Sony will pull this off in the future. Here’s a video of a few upcoming games.
A will call it Morpheus… Do ya understand Sony?… 😀
