Bad Viking and Iceberg Interactive’s game is heading to most current-generation consoles, but it is not skipping the PlayStation 4 either…
Take charge of a shop that deals in occult antiquities. Explore the cozy yet gloomy little town of Undermere, where strange events and dark mysteries await at every turn. Search for and identify mysterious objects, use your collection to help the townsfolk solve their unusual problems, and do not forget to pet the cat. Every day, new customers arrive in the shop’s warm, candlelit interior. Their needs are unpredictable and often alarming, but never dull. Examine, identify, and catalogue strange objects. Observation, deduction, and careful study of illustrated books will serve you well. Mistakes can be costly. When dealing with items of immense power, your decisions matter. Do you help someone with their problem, or curse them with terrible suffering instead? In a town this small, people remember your misdeeds.
From time to time, you will have to leave the safety of the shop. Whether investigating rumors or retrieving items, the beloved hand-drawn maps will guide you where you need to go. Daily life in itself may already feel like a puzzle, but this shop holds many more mysteries besides. Very few people know how old the building really is, and even fewer know what secrets lie hidden within its walls. And of course there is Jupiter, the shop cat, who demands daily attention. In return for his company, scratch him behind the ears every now and then…
“We are two brothers from the United Kingdom who have been making games together for more than a decade. In 2022, we released our occult puzzle game, Strange Horticulture, and the response was incredible, from excellent reviews and award nominations to appearances on numerous best-of-the-year lists. Most importantly, though, it was a joy to read the kind words left by players on Steam, where after nearly 12,000 reviews we are still rated Overwhelmingly Positive.
Strange Antiquities is not a sequel, at least not directly. You will see some familiar faces, and maybe a few plants will pop up too, but this is a completely new story. If you loved Strange Horticulture and the dark yet welcoming world we created, you will feel at home here. We want to thank everyone who played Strange Horticulture, wrote a review, told their friends about it, or supported the game in any way. It has been a wonderful journey, and we cannot wait to share the next chapter with you”, wrote Rob and John, the two developers.
Strange Antiquities launched on September 17, 2025 for Nintendo Switch and PC. It is now also coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and even PlayStation 4 on April 30.
