The Expanse: A Telltale Series: Completely Unexpectedly on a New Platform!

We had heard absolutely nothing about this port until now, and then suddenly here it is – the latest result of Deck Nine Games and Telltale Games’ work.

Set hundreds of years in the future, The Expanse is based on the novel series by James S.A. Corey, the pen name of authors Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck, who also serve as writers and producers on the franchise. Humanity has colonized the Solar System, and tensions continue to rise between its three main power blocs. The story follows a group of protagonists representing the Earthers, Martians, and Belters as they uncover, and become entangled in, a conspiracy that threatens the fragile balance. The Expanse earned critical acclaim for its visual style, character work, and political storytelling.

In the game, players take on the role of Camina Drummer, played in the game by Cara Gee, who serves as the XO of a scavenger crew searching for a mysterious treasure on the edge of the Belt. As Drummer, players must deal with strong personalities, face a bloody mutiny, explore locations beyond the Belt, and above all make tough choices that determine the fate of the Artemis crew. Search through shipwrecks, use mag boots to walk on walls and ceilings, and use Zero-G thrusters to float through the interiors of ships and open space in what Telltale describes as its biggest and most immersive exploration game to date.

Alongside the game’s five main chapters, the Deluxe Edition also includes a bonus episode in which Shohreh Aghdashloo reprises her role as Chrisjen Avasarala, Secretary-General of the United Nations in The Expanse. The Archangel episode offers a completely new perspective on The Expanse: A Telltale Series, letting players experience a defining day in Avasarala’s life, one in which she must manage conflicts across the Solar System, outmaneuver rival politicians, and endure a family drama on a day that changes her life forever.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series launched on July 27, 2023, with its first episode on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Now, the game’s Deluxe Edition has suddenly appeared on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch at a price of $30. Nearly three years later? That is certainly an interesting move.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
