Lovely Hellplace and DreadXP are taking a cautious but playful approach with their turn-based RPG, which they describe as hellish.
Taking the beautiful retro 3D aesthetic of Dread Delusion and adding new unsettling locations and frightening creatures, Entropy replaces real-time first-person combat with tactical, turn-based battles inspired by classic JRPGs. In these fights, players command a party of up to six adventurous mercenaries against a demonic invasion threatening their world. In this declining age, only scattered groups of humanity remain. There was no grand apocalyptic event; only the cruel passage of time and the world’s inexplicable infertility brought us here. Accursed creatures lurk across the barren lands between settlements, and those settlements are dreadful places themselves: miserable, medieval in mood, and mostly ruled by tyrants.
The story begins in the city of Draenog, where your theatrical performance is interrupted by fighting at the gates. The demons have arrived. As a simple actor, you will have to make do with your wooden sword for now; you must gather your troupe and defend yourselves. That is how your quest begins, as you travel across a vast world map filled with explorable towns and colorful characters. Carve a path through this hellish expedition to stop the demonic assault.
Set out on a quest across poisoned lands to halt the demonic incursion. Command a party of up to six characters. Hire mercenaries to replace fallen party members. Beyond tactical, turn-based combat, explore a dying world filled with unique characters, creatures, challenges, and treasure. Level up your characters, increase their stats, and unlock new abilities.
