Pixel Jackal Studio and Hyperstrange are entering the survival genre, but the setting will be anything but ordinary.
Your home is the ice-covered corpse of a long-dead god, hiding countless secrets beneath its frozen body. Your people, like everything else in this world, were born from the blood-red pods that brought you into existence. Recently, however, those cradles have begun to produce corrupted creatures, monsters that are neither human nor animal.
As this new threat spreads across the god-glacier, you and the other tribes must find a new shelter. Some tribes even claim to have discovered metal dwellings that fell from the stars long ago. The world of Bloodwoven is clearly not the typical setting for a survival game.
Everything in the game lives according to its own rhythm, and you are only one part of the ecosystem. Predators roam the icy peaks in search of prey, further dangers lurk beneath the water’s surface, and the last hairy behemoths wander across wind-swept glaciers. Tribes may welcome you as one of their own or kill you on sight, depending on how you act and who you decide to support.
The biting winter winds may not be as sharp as a predator’s fangs, but they will eventually reach your bones. You will need to stockpile supplies, acquire proper equipment, and manage your body temperature to survive the frozen wilderness. At times, a strengthening brew and a warm campfire can mean the difference between life and death.
You are not the hero of this story, but you are unquestionably part of the food chain. You can stalk prey and dispatch it silently, or stand your ground with a spear in one hand and a boomerang on your back. Whichever path you choose, violence is guaranteed, and with enough luck you may eventually get your hands on weapons that do not belong to this world.
A prepared hunter is a successful hunter. You can fill your inventory grid with weapons, tools, and consumables to stand a fair chance against mysterious Ice Age predators and survive the harshest winters. Friendly traders will await your trophies in villages, while a safe hideout will be ready to store everything valuable you find.
With proper climbing equipment and enough endurance, no peak should stand in your way. You can scale icy cliff faces and explore at your own pace, but you will need to prepare not only for steep climbs, but also for whatever may be waiting at the summit. The stealth-action FPS Bloodwoven is in development for PC, and its release date has not yet been announced.
