Stormind Games has switched from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5, giving the early entries in this survival-horror IP a completely new look.
Remothered: Tormented Fathers Remastered, the first chapter of the cult survival-horror saga, has been rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5. This update delivers a new level of visual fidelity, atmosphere, and immersion. Legacy bugs have been resolved, while everything players loved remains intact.
Players take control of Rosemary Reed, a sharp and determined thirty-five-year-old woman who arrives at the isolated home of Richard Felton under false pretenses. She is there to uncover the truth about Celeste, a young girl who vanished without a trace. Gloria, a nurse, watches over the aging and ailing Felton, but the moment Dr. Felton realizes why Rosemary is really there, the hunt begins.
What follows is a web of obsession, buried secrets, and psychological horror, where the line between victim and monster is never where players expect it to be.
The game offers endless ways to experience survival in your own style. Sneak, fight, plan, hide, or run. Deceive stalkers, lock them in another part of the house, attack them, or strengthen your equipment.
Study enemies’ behaviors and routes carefully. Do not get too close: act like an imperceptible shadow and stay hidden from their sight. Or freely combine these approaches. The story’s characters are ordinary people who gradually become terrifying monsters.
The plot unfolds like a psychological thriller with complex, human characters and cinematic cutscenes. Listen to the soundtrack and 3D audio to notice in time when stalkers are getting closer. Players must rely on their own senses to assess the situation.
Realistic environments and characters make the experience more believable, while music by Nobuko Toda and Luca Balboni sustains the tension from start to finish. Explore the mansion without interruptions, empty stretches, or distracting loading times.
The truths hidden deep within the Ashmann Inn will not be easy to uncover. Its many intertwined mysteries are guarded by hunters trapped within the walls and time itself. Survival requires not only fast reflexes but also strategic thinking and resourcefulness. Knowing when to sneak, flee, or fight can quickly turn hunters into the hunted.
Remothered: Broken Porcelain Remastered is the second chapter of the saga, returning with overhauled graphics, lighting, and presentation. Bugs from the original release have been fixed to provide a smoother and more stable experience, while the gameplay, mechanics, and tension remain unchanged. The move to Unreal Engine 5 brings a significant visual and technical upgrade to the entire game.
The Remothered saga expands with new layers of lore. Returning players will find new answers, while newcomers can discover a story that stands on its own. The Ashmann Inn is filled with useful resources, but danger waits around every corner. Search carefully, think ahead, and use found items wisely to stay alive.
Move through the shadows, distract enemies, or confront them directly. The inn rewards players who are not only quick but also inventive. Nothing is random. Every puzzle is organically tied to the world’s story, and its solution fits the logic and dark past of the inn.
Fan-favorite characters return alongside new faces, all drawing from the traditions of classic horror. Completely rebuilt in-engine cutscenes offer a more cinematic experience than ever, while Luca Balboni’s music maintains the atmosphere of dread from the first corridor to the final confrontation.
In both games, lighting has been rebuilt through Unreal Engine 5’s rendering pipeline. Shadows and atmosphere now respond dynamically to the environment, making every corridor genuinely oppressive through stronger mood work and greater visual consistency in every location.
Props, architecture, and vegetation have been rebuilt throughout the games with higher-resolution models, materials, and textures. The entire cast has been refined with improved detail and material quality while preserving the original artistic direction. In-game cutscenes have been upgraded to modern production standards.
The user interface and menus have been redesigned for clarity, readability, and a contemporary appearance. The original gameplay, mechanics, balance, and feel remain completely untouched.
Both Remothered: Tormented Fathers Remastered and Remothered: Broken Porcelain Remastered are in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, but their release dates remain unknown.
