A certain, classical game element will not be part of the reboot trilogy’s final portion.
If we think about Lara Croft, one of our first thoughts would be her wielding the dual pistols. However, that wasn’t part of the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot, and it also was absent in the 2015/2016 (the latter year being the PlayStation 4 port’s launch year) Shadow of the Tomb Raider as well.
Dan Bisson, the game’s director, clarified whether there will be old elements of Lara’s characteristics, fighting style in the game or not: „No. I don’t want that. For us, this [game] is her defining moment. We’re not going to put her in shorts with double-pistols, wearing a bikini; that’s not what this is. For this trilogy – not saying anything about, later on, I don’t know about the future titles – but for this trilogy, the bow is still her signature weapon.”
So the past won’t be present in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which will launch on September 14 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
