Beyond Good & Evil 2: Not-So-Good Signs From Ubisoft’s CEO!

We were already afraid about Splinter Cell (we discussed it yesterday), but now, Yves Guillemot, the CEO of Ubisoft, talked about Beyond Good & Evil 2 as well.

Let’s see what the French head of Ubisoft told IGN: „I spoke with Michel Ancel last week about it to see where it was going; how we should move in one or another direction. We see the potential of this universe and it is fantastic, and Michel is really passionate [about it]. It’s going to be fantastic, I think.”

This comment has a few problems. First off, this „another direction.” It could mean that the game might get some content removed, which wouldn’t be surprising – we’re talking about Ubisoft, who previously downgraded their games massively after their E3 outings (just think of The Division and Watch Dogs). Also, the game might be rewritten, which also happened a few times in the gaming industry (before 2016’s DOOM, there was Doom 4 up to about 2012 or 13, if you remember).

Beyond Good & Evil 2 (which is significantly different from the first game, going by what we have seen so far…) has no release date yet, which is why it’s likely a next-gen game, meaning aside from the PC, it might hit the next generation PlayStation and Xbox platforms.

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
