Recently, Sony hasn’t been on top form when it comes to the PlayStation Plus titles (and we have used quite light words there…), so we’re going to ask the usual question in another way: can Sony stoop even lower than what they have done with the two May games (which were What Remains of Edith Finch and Overcooked), or can they start getting their act together for the summer for at least one month? Let’s see the answer.
This time, the situation is slightly brighter, as we read on the PlayStation Blog (the European one, not the American – the latter hasn’t published the post at the time of writing…) that the two games the PlayStation Plus subscribers gain access to in June will be Sonic Mania and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. The former is a decent 2D retro platformer not made by Sonic Team (who made Sonic Forces in 2017), and the latter is meant to make us hyped for Borderlands 3. This collection contains three games: Borderlands, Borderlands 2, and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. You can enjoy the trilogy before the third main game. (Not Tales from the Borderlands, though – that was a PS Plus game earlier this year, however.)
This is a better list than in the previous month, as the second title contains three games, meaning we get four games now, and not just two. Still, there’s nothing else for those who subscribe to play PlayStation 4 games online. Not a single PlayStation VR or PlayLink title. That’s still not fair.
As usual, the June duo will replace the May titles on the first Tuesday or Wednesday of the month (it depends on the region – if you are in North America, the swap tends to happen on Tuesday). Have fun with these games.
