The money won’t be gone in Google Stadia‘s black hole if you ended up spending money and wasting it there.

With Google Stadia, there’s a subscription model named Stadia Pro (for 10 bucks a month), where those who pay monthly will get „free” games into their collection if they live in the West and have a decent enough Internet connection. This week, Google added two games to the Stadia Pro line-up (and they will be available there from December 1): they are Farming Simulator 19 and Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. Both were part of the game streaming service’s launch line-up, so there could have been people that paid for them before they got added to Stadia Pro.

However, Google will use a different approach with Stadia than what Sony has with the PlayStation Plus and Microsoft utilises with Xbox Games With Gold, respectively. If you got a game in their services that you already bought before, they won’t budge an inch. Not Google, though – they are willing to give a refund: „We know that some users have recently purchased these two games for their collection. Because of the proximity between the launch of the platform, and the announcement of these titles in Stadia Pro, we’re happy to assist you if you’d like to request a refund if you have purchased either or both of these titles, even if it’s outside of our normal policy,” Google‘s site reads.

So initially, Google will be fair, as they openly wrote „outside our normal policy,” meaning they will quickly get off from this stance, and you will not get refunded in say, two months or so. If they start adding games to Stadia Pro that could get subscribers, then the service might become profitable, which could be indeed having underperformance with pre-orders, as we discussed before.
