Tim Sweeney, the head of Epic Games, isn’t alone – previously, we wrote about him that they support GeForce Now even with not a lot of games on the Epic Games Store supporting Nvidia’s system.

We’re talking about Ubisoft – they don’t seem to be bothered that they are already knee-deep with Google Stadia. (Remember, in 2018. they tested its predecessor, Project Stream, with Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey.) They stand by game streaming even with Nvidia’s service allowing us to stream from several of our game libraries (such as Steam), using a powerful cloud PC.

„If someone has already bought one of our games on the PC, they should be able to play them wherever they like,” Chris Early, Ubisoft’s senior vice president, said in an interview on the company’s website. He added that the company’s goal is to achieve cross-play and cross-progression. These will debut in The Division 2 on Google Stadia between this service and PC. (Speaking of Stadia, UPLAY+, the French company’s subscription service, is planned to start on it this year.)

He also said that 5G technology should be widespread before streaming could get off the ground: „To get there from a technology standpoint means that we need to drastically improve the bandwidth to mobile devices. Today, most streaming only works on mobile devices on the home, because you’re streaming from your home router to your phone. Until 5G gets deployed on a broad basis, we just don’t have the bandwidth outside, away from the home, to be able to stream properly to phones. Bandwidth caps are also a concern, but I think that, as we’ve seen over time, those caps tend to rise as use of the internet tends to grow.”

So after Activision Blizzard, Bethesda, and 2K Games/Take-Two (all three departed the service, and we wrote about them all) leaving the one-month-old service that launched in public after four beta years, we have two companies supporting GeForce Now.
