Cyberpunk 2077: The Coronavirus Will Not Delay The Game

Cyberpunk 2077CD Projekt RED is playing it safe, and the Polish studio is doing the right thing.

„[…] Over the past week, we have been adapting to the situation and gradually rolling out preventative measures across our entire organization. We’ve also been upgrading equipment & infrastructure and working towards enabling our employees to work remotely, from the safety of their homes. Today, as a result of that preparation, CD Projekt Red switches to full remote work as long as it is needed. We think this will grant every team member the highest level of personal health safety. And while this all is a bit new to everyone, we are rising to the challenge and showing no signs of stopping in our effort to bring you some kick-ass role-playing action this September,” CD Projekt RED wrote on Twitter. So they follow the example of Bungie and Rockstar (we mentioned both of them in the past few days).

Keep in mind that Cyberpunk 2077 was indeed delayed before: „Night City is massive — full of stories, content, and places to visit, but due to the sheer scale and complexity of it all, we need more time to finish playtesting, fixing and polishing. We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for this generation and postponing launch will give us the precious months we need to make the game perfect,” said CDPR co-founder, Marcin Iwinski, and head of the studio, Adam Badowski, back in January. (And they aren’t safe from crunch either – recently, Naughty Dog’s practices were discussed…)

Cyberpunk 2077’s single-player component will thus launch on September 17 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG…). They already confirmed an Xbox Series X patch/version as well. The multiplayer portion is unlikely to arrive before .2022, and by then, it is likely to be on the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
