John Gonzalez will work from Barcelona in an open world video game with a large budget.
Good news for the video game industry in Spain. A new studio based in Barcelona, of which not many details have been shared, has just made a luxury signing for its ranks, John Gonzalez, director of the narrative for Horizon: Zero Dawn at Guerrilla Games, to work on an open-world video game triple-a of which no clues about his entity have been offered either.
John Gonzalez has an important resume, having been linked to the video game industry for 20 years with credits in such celebrated projects as Tom Clancy’s EndWar at Ubisoft Shanghai, Fallout: New Vegas at Obsidian Entertainment or Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor at Warner Bros. Games until arriving at Guerrilla Games, from PlayStation Studios, where he has spent the last six years winning the WGA Award for Best Video Game Script for his work with the great Horizon: Zero Dawn.
“I’m going to the magical land of Gaudí and the ‘calçots’ to build an original open-world IP with a new cast of like-minded, crazy and ambitious developers,” announces the veteran developed on his profile on LinkedIn.
The new Gonzalez’s work centre in Barcelona is completely unknown, although a few weeks ago the important landing of the Korean Smilegate in Barcelona was news, as they remember in ResetEra.
Gonzalez will not be in this way already immersed in Horizon: Forbidden West presented a few weeks ago for PlayStation 5 with a spectacular trailer.
