Last week the delay until 2021 of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 , a sequel to the cult RPG released in 2004, was announced. As is often the case in these cases, Hardsuit Labs assured that they needed more time to create a job that met expectations. Now, more information has been revealed that probably influenced the decision to postpone the launch of the adventure.
The changes begin with the firing of two of the most important members of the game development, such as Brian Mitsoda, head of narrative design, and Ka’ai Cluney, creative director. As stated from the game’s official website, it is a joint decision taken by Hardsuit Labs and Paradox, developer and publisher of the game respectively, in their restructuring of the plans regarding the development of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2.
In the statement confirming the dismissals of Mitsoda -who worked on the original- or Ka’ai, the study appreciates the services provided stating that they have been “key in establishing the story and the dark tone of the game”, concluding with a wish for the best for both of them in the future.
Last May, during the presentation event of the Xbox Series X games, we were able to see a new trailer of the game, through a music video that especially captivated the fans of the game. Shortly after, its spectacular collector’s edition with a figure and a vinyl record was announced. But we’ll have to wait until 2021 to find out if this Bloodlines sequel is up to the task or not.
