Project Cars 3 won’t feature cross-play or ray tracing: “we’re targeting the current generation”

Slightly Mad Studios rules out the possibility of having ray-tracing effects in the new instalment: Project Cars 3.

There is very little left for the premiere of the next Project Cars title. The next instalment of the driving simulator from Slightly Mad Studios hits stores next week for PS4, Xbox One and PC; a game that, as its developers commented to theGeek in the past, will be focused on the current generation of consoles. And this means that it will not make use of functions such as ray tracing that sounds so much today, as confirmed by the company, who say that it will not make use of cross-platform play either.

In a new interview with WCCFTech, Marketing Manager Joseph Barron confirmed that Project Cars 3 will not be using ray tracing, not even on PC: ” Ray tracing is an incredible advance for gaming as a whole. It’s exciting to see how the lighting and colours are getting closer and closer to reality. In Project Cars 3, we are still targeting the current generation of consoles and PCs, so ray tracing was not something we had in mind for this particular title. ”

” Our goal is 60 fps on all platforms, since the frame rate is crucial in sim racing to maximize your performance as a pilot, and of course, current PS4 and Xbox are not ready for ray tracing, ” he explained. Barron. Subsequently, the aforementioned media asked the developer about cross-platform play, which as we have already mentioned, it seems that we will not see it in this Project Cars.

“Crossover play is certainly something we will consider in future titles, but we have no plans for it in Project Cars 3 at the moment.” We remind you that the new Project Cars 3 will be available on August 28, and the studio has published a new gameplay trailer in advance of its arrival.
