Is Ubisoft Hiding A Prince Of Persia Remake?

It looks like the French publisher might be doing something that previously was brought up in a rumour.

The ResetEra forums revealed that a Guatemalan video game retailer, MAX, has listed Prince of Persia Remake on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch with a November release window (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X?). We’ll not link them, as they have already wiped the listing for both platforms since.

Jason Schreier, who previously wrote for Kotaku and now does for Bloomberg, also retweeted this on Twitter with the following comment: „Video game retailers sure love leaking Ubisoft’s surprise announcements.” It seems to suggest that the listing is real. He got a user in a reply saying that he doesn’t believe it’s true. Schreier responded saying „This tweet won’t age well,” which means it’ll be like rotten milk if it gets announced by Ubisoft. Also, don’t think that the Xbox One and the PC will skip the remake – we can’t even remember a platform-exclusive Ubisoft title from the current console generation… (the last one could be the PlayStation 3-exclusive Haze).

One of the commenters on Gematsu is from Guatemala, and they say MAX tends to get it wrong most of the time, and it could be a mistake by the inventory staff. And another comment brings up a rumour from April or so when we heard and discussed the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time trilogy remake. It doesn’t sound like a bad idea to connect the two dots.

Ubisoft will likely reveal the game (or games?) during the second Ubisoft Forward, and there, they must respond to the bad voices that talk about the sexual harassment within the company that resulted in several key employees either leaving the company (such as Serge Hascoët) or getting fired in the process. They no longer have the excuse of a pre-recorded show.
