We might not even see the first game in the Yakuza spin-off series: Judgment on PC, so SEGA, and Ryu Ga Gotoku (SEGA) Studio might not be allowed to build a proper franchise.

A Japanese website, Nikkan Taishu wrote based on a source that Johnny’s, the talent agency of Takuya Kimura, is strongly opposing the first Judgment’s PC port, even though Judgment Remastered has released earlier this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Google Stadia.

Takuya Kimura is the actor behind Takayuki Yagami, the protagonist of the spin-off series, but the agency behind it is seemingly opposing considering the PC as a target platform altogether. This led to SEGA, the publisher of the series, to think that this whole idea isn’t a viable business proposition altogether, even though Judgment is meant to continue to keep the beat’em up fighting style (while the main Yakuza series are heading towards the turn-based RPG combat, which was already in Yakuza 7, or Yakuza: Like A Dragon in the West).

This rumour seems reasonable if we think about Lost Judgment: SEGA announced it on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia, without ever mentioning the PC. This game will launch worldwide on September 24 (or, if you get the Digital Deluxe or the Digital Ultimate Edition, you can play from September 21; we discussed this subject in detail last weekend).

We have to point out that it’s only rumoured for now. If this is indeed the reason behind skipping the PC for the Judgment titles, then it’s scary. Why is that agency so outdated in its thought process? It’s no longer the 2000s (when the PC was indeed an ignored gaming platform in Japan).
