Update 0.2.1 for Battlefield 2042 is now available, with two more coming in the next few days.
Although Battlefield 2042 hasn’t been officially released yet, it’s been available for early access for a few days now via EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. However, its performance still leaves something to be desired: some technical issues and users have even exploited some bugs to gain more experience.
DICE is working hard to fix the remaining bugs, with a list of more than 30 already, so the first update is not far off. Patch 0.2.1 is now available for Electronic Arts’ shooter and fixes several issues, which you can check out on the game’s official website.
The update improves server health, refines some HUD details, and introduces Battlefield Portal and Hazard Zone modes changes. They also say they’re working on fixing Rubber Banding issues and slowdowns during gameplay, one of the causes of which was disabling the proximity sensor.
However, there is no direct mention of the problems with the hitbox for certain characters, which users recently reported on Reddit, and were observed in the case of Falck and Sundance, whose models do not register shots properly. In Falck’s case, the detection of shots is higher than the character’s, while in Sundance’s case, it seems to be completely the opposite, and it’s lower.
Battlefield 2042 officially launches today, 19 November, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. All we know about the post-launch content is that it will start with a pre-season, after which the first season will begin in 2022, with new battlefields and specialists.
