One Of The Studios Working On Final Fantasy XV Is Looking For Developers

Mutan Insight is admittedly developing a remake of a high-end RPG for PlayStation 5…

Mutan Insight is a Japanese studio specialising in character and background models. The team has worked on Final Fantasy XV Episode Ardyn DLC, the Atelier series, background models for Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth, and Blue Reflection TIE, among others, so their work is not negligible. Gematsu, citing a Japanese blog, said that Mutan Insight is now looking for more people to help with a high-end PlayStation 5 RPG remake.

Several positions are still open, including 3D motion designer, 3D art director, 3D background designer, and 2D character designer. But one thing is official: whatever is made and whoever will publish it, the game will use Unreal Engine 5, and applicants will work on scenes with high-end, real-time graphics. The skills required include experience in cutscene creation and motion capture. So it’s not a small project.

We don’t know whether Mutan Insight is working on the remake alone. Still, it’s improbable, as the studio has been in a supportive role so far, so it’s not a bad idea to think that the Japanese group has signed up with a more prominent company. But then, what is it that is being made here? The Chrono Cross remake that surfaced during the GeForce Now leak could be one option (plus it’s Square Enix IP, so there’s a rationale), and the other is Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 (ditto).

These candidates are high-end RPGs and remakes, and Mutan Insight has experience in this through the Final Fantasy connection. Of course, this hasn’t been officially announced yet, but something is in the works; Square Enix is on the Final Fantasy VII bandwagon anyway, which will pop up as a news topic later today.
