MOVIE NEWS – Last Looks arrives in early February, and we finally get to see this unlikely pair in action.

 

 

RLJE Films has unveiled the brand new poster and trailer for Last Looks. Previously titled Waldo, the film stars Charlie Hunnam and Mel Gibson as an unlikely pair who are forced to work together to solve a murder case. The film will be released in cinemas on 2 February 2022, and you can find the new trailer at the end of this article.

The official synopsis for Last Looks reads, “Charlie Waldo (Charlie Hunnam) is an ex-LAPD superstar who left the force and now lives a life of simplicity and solitude deep in the woods. Alastair Pinch (Mel Gibson) is an eccentric actor who spends his days drunk on the set of his TV show. When Pinch’s wife is found dead, he is the prime suspect and Waldo is convinced to come out of retirement to investigate what happened. The case finds Waldo contending with gangsters, Hollywood executives and pre-school teachers, all in pursuit of clearing Pinch’s name … or confirming his guilt.”

Other actors appearing in the film in small to prominent roles include Morena Baccarin (Deadpool 2), Dominic Monaghan (Lord of the Rings) and Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption, Highlander). The director is Tim Kirkby (Brockmire), and the screenplay is by Howard Michael Gould, based on the novel of the same name.

 

 

 

 

Mel Gibson has appeared in many roles in recent years. It was recently reported that he would star in the fantasy-adventure film Boys of Summer, and he is also set to return with Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon 5, which he is also committed to direct. The actor-director is also planning to produce The Passion of Christ 2. Meanwhile, he’ll also appear on the small screen after starring in the John Wick spinoff series The Continental.

As for Charlie Hunnam, the Sons of Anarchy star recently appeared in The Gentlemen and has also been cast in the upcoming Apple TV+ thriller series Shantaram. In the series, Hunnam will play an Australian bank robber who flees the country for India. No word yet on when the series will be available to stream.

The Last Look will begin airing in the US on 2 February.
