Thor: Love And Thunder: Is This How The Main Villain Will Look Like?!

MOVIE NEWS – The best look yet at Christian Bale’s Gorr, the God Butcher, in an official Thor: Love and Thunder action figure.

Official Thor: Love and Thunder action figures have given us another glimpse of the film’s antagonist. The film marks the debut of Christian Bale in the Marvel Universe as the villainous Gorr, the God Butcher, who serves as the antagonist to Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Natalie Portman’s The Mighty Thor. While we know about his casting, other than blurry photos leaked from the set and a LEGO version of the main villain, we haven’t seen much of Bale in the role.

Now we’ve got a much better look at Gorr, the God Butcher, giving us our best look yet at the MCU’s incarnation of the character in Love and Thunder.

Photos of the official Gorr action figure have gone viral on social media, and the detail is much more accurate than what we saw in the LEGO version.

It’s still a plastic action figure and not quite Christian Bale’s Gorr in the flesh, but it gives an excellent glimpse of the villain while fans continue to wait for the official trailer to be released. Check out the figure below.

In the comics, Gorr is a tortured soul who spent a lifetime praying devoutly to the gods who never answered his prayers, causing him to collapse after a lifetime of misery. When he comes into possession of a dark god’s sword and transforms into a “God Butcher”, Gorr makes it his personal mission to seek revenge on the gods he blames for allowing bad things to happen to him and his family. He finally meets his most challenging opponent when he encounters Thor.

Gorr butchers Thor?!

Chris Hemsworth has teased that he may soon end his MCU stint as Thor, perhaps after Thor: Love and Thunder. If that’s the case, then some tragedy could be in store for the character, thanks to Gorr the God Butcher, perhaps so that The Mighty Thor can take over the role in future MCU films. In any case, Hemsworth has previously said on The Today Show in Australia that he is worried that fan interest in his Thor is “waning” and thinks the clock is ticking.

“How many Spider-Mans has [Tom Holland] done? He’s a little behind me. I think he’s done three, I’ve done six or seven Thors, so maybe [I’m done],” Hemsworth said. “As long as they’ll have me, I’ll turn up, but I feel like it might be waning, that kind of enthusiasm.”

Thor: Love and Thunder is scheduled to hit theatres on July 8, 2022.
