As crazy as the idea seems at first, it’s just as messed up when you think about it, but it’s a fact: a trailer has been released for Hooked On You: A Dead By Daylight Dating Sim.

Although its existence had been rumoured since February when Hooked On You: A Dead By Daylight Dating Sim was first announced, not many of us thought it was anything more than some elaborate April Fools’ Day prank by the developers. But we were wrong because this video game is real, has a trailer, and is coming this summer.

“Have you ever wanted to have a drink with the Wraith, date the Huntress, confess your innermost feelings to the Spirit, or find out what the Trapper hates most? Well, here’s your chance,” the authors say on YouTube.

“We welcome you to Isla Asesinos. You’ll have the company of four insufferably attractive assassins who, despite their formidable exteriors, are just looking for someone to love them. Flirt your way relentlessly into their hearts and uncover their dark secrets on your way to seduction – will you find love, stay in the friend zone… or will you end up getting killed? It’s up to you,” adds Behaviour Interactive.

In a statement, Mathieu Côté, Partnership Director at Dead by Daylight, hopes that Hooked On You will deliver a mix of horror, humour and romantic moments that will allow fans of the IP to find new ways to interact and form an emotional bond with their favourite killers and this universe.

Not much is known about the gameplay approach, although the developers define the game as a visual novel. Hooked On You is set for release on PC via Steam at a yet-to-be-determined summer date. Dead by Daylight Year 7 was also confirmed a few hours ago.
