It may just be an updated logo that will be extended to the digital versions of the game, so it will be in line with other Rockstar titles that also carry the Rockstar Games Presents branding. Last month, Rockstar’s 13-year-old game was also assessed by South Korea’s Game Classification and Administration Commission, which often exposes upcoming titles even before they’re officially announced. As Gematsu noticed, the new classification has a classification number that refers to console games.
Red Dead Redemption was released in May 2010 for PS3 and Xbox 360, but was never ported to PC. The new Korean rating is separate from the existing ratings for the original game, Undead Nightmare Collection and Game of the Year Edition. A Rockstar insider who has previously leaked accurate information about the company’s games claimed last year that they were working on remasters of Grand Theft Auto IV and Red Dead Redemption, but the idea has since been scrapped.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was released in 2018 with a multiplayer mode, Red Dead Online, which received a standalone release in 2020. Rockstar owner Take-Two said in May that the franchise has sold more than 75 million units to date, including 53 million copies of Red Dead Redemption 2. After confirming in early 2022 that Grand Theft Auto 6 was in “active development” “well is progressing,” more than an hour of footage of the game was leaked online last September.
