Xbox Game Pass: The Second August 2023 Update

Microsoft’s subscription service is not expanding significantly with its last update of the summer, but in this case, it’s a case of calm before the storm.

Microsoft says Everspace 2 (Xbox Series, cloud) is now available. Firewatch arrives on August 17 (console – Xbox Series, Xbox One; PC, cloud; returning title), followed by The Texas Chain Saw Massacre on August 18 (console, PC, cloud, launches in Game Pass), then, after a surprisingly long break, Sea of Stars on August 29 (console, PC, cloud, Game Pass launch), and then Gris on September 5 (console, PC, cloud).

Game Pass subscribers can purchase the Starfield Premium Edition at a 10% discount, giving them early access to the game and play it on Xbox Series and PC from September 1. Those upgrading from the base edition to the Premium Edition will receive the Shattered Space story DLC at launch and the Constellation skin pack, digital art book, and soundtrack.

As a reminder, a remastered version of 1997’s Quake II is available on console, PC, and cloud. In terms of DLCs and updates, only one thing was mentioned: PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can try Madden NFL 24 for 10 hours if they want to get addicted to gambling with Ultimate Team mode. There are three Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perks. In addition to the Overwatch 2 New Heroes Starter Pack, the trashy Madden NFL 24 Ultimate Team Welcome Pack is worth mentioning, but that game mode is part of the creative decline of the gaming industry. Also coming from August 17 is the Fallout 76 Lunchtime Bundle.

Finally, the games that will be leaving on August 31, and you can buy them at a discount of up to 20% so you can play them afterward (with an internet connection because that’s how Microsoft’s DRM works): Black Desert (console, cloud), Commandos 3 HD Remaster (console, PC, cloud), Immortality (console, PC, cloud), Nuclear Throne (console, PC, cloud), Surgeon Simulator 2 (console, PC, cloud) and Tinykin (console, PC, cloud).

Then, Starfield is coming to the service.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
