Does iOS 17.0.3 Fix The iPhone 15 Pro’s Overheating Issues? [VIDEO]

TECH NEWS – The new OS update may have eliminated the overheating issues that the two more expensive models of the iPhone 15 have been experiencing.

The A17 Pro chip, which doesn’t look all that new based on its codename, and the 8GB of RAM that allowed the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max to keep up with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra are there. However, along with the improved performance, there have been reports that the phone’s temperature has reached a level where the device’s performance is reduced for safety reasons. We’ve already reported on this (and a possible app that could have caused the high temperatures), but Apple has been following the news and has been quick to do what you’d expect from the Cupertino-based tech giant…

But that might not have been enough. Apple has released the latest update to iOS, 17.0.3. Many things have been pointed to as heating issues (not mentioned so far, but the A17 Pro chip and later the titanium cover plate have also been mentioned as “suspects”), but in the video below, after installing the update, the iPhone 15 Pro continued to overheat after charging the device and then running benchmark tests to measure performance. A thermal camera was used to measure the device’s temperature.

While running a graphics test (using the A17 Pro chip), he placed the phone on the charger and the temperature rose just as it would have on older versions of iOS 17. Apple hasn’t limited the performance of the chip, so the fault isn’t with it, so if the higher temperature isn’t the company’s fault, then we really should look elsewhere (and if it turns out to be caused by Meta’s Instagram app, then Mark Zuckerberg will be burned big time).

Of course, this test is just a rudimentary thing, so until someone puts Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max on the torture rack for an extended period of time, we can only speculate as to what exactly could be causing the overheating.
