Is This Upcoming Horror Game A Contender For The Silent Hill Throne…?! [VIDEO]

If you love the survival horror genre, especially Silent Hill, then this awesome Unreal Engine 5 game was made for you.

Ever since Konami’s Silent Hill series first hit the original PlayStation in 1999, it has provided not only an alternative to Capcom’s Resident Evil franchise but also a psychological horror that has set itself apart from the competition.

Over the years, many games have tried to replicate the Silent Hill formula (at least the original trilogy and P.T.), but few have achieved anywhere near the same quality and success.

However, there is an upcoming game that looks like it could capture the classic Silent Hill feel. This is Post Trauma from indie developer Red Soul Games.

“Post Trauma is a horror game inspired by genre-defining classics of the past decades. Step into the shoes of Roman, a middle-aged train conductor who finds himself trapped in a terrifying and twisted reality,” reads the official description of the game. “Explore the unknown, solve mysteries, and try to survive the unspeakable horrors that lurk in these threatening surroundings. Will you uncover the truth and find a way back to your family?”

It’s often hard to tell if a game is actually going to be good, no matter how impressive the trailer is. In any case, Post Trauma piqued the interest of fans of the genre. It apparently combines the usual elements well. The only question is how memorable it will be.

Post Trauma promises a nightmarish world inhabited by deadly creatures, well-thought-out puzzles and an unsolvable mystery in a mind-numbing dimension that will keep you hooked from start to finish.

For an authentic survival horror experience, Post Trauma will also feature fixed camera angles. This is sure to appeal to many old-school fans. Will Roman be able to survive this horror with his sanity? Only time will tell.

An exact release date for Post Trauma has not been announced at the time of writing. It is expected to be released in spring 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
