A prominent gaming leaker claims to know when Marvel’s Wolverine will be released, backing up his earlier claims about the tone and location.
A reliable gaming leaker has shared some exciting information regarding Marvel’s Wolverine. Among other things are the possible release window of 2025 and the tone and narrative environment. Now that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is out, Insomniac fans are considering the developer’s upcoming Wolverine game. The latter was announced along with Spider-Man 2 back in 2021. During an action-packed PlayStation Showcase livestream, eager gamers were greeted by the sight of Logan sitting in a dirty bar surrounded by dead bodies. His trademark Adamantium claws have revealed who exactly will star in Insomniac’s next epic superhero title.
Since then, very little has been officially revealed about Marvel’s Wolverine, other than that the game will be set in the same continuity as Insomniac’s acclaimed Spider-Man games and that Spec Ops: The Line writer Walt D. Williams will be the narrative director.
This fueled speculation that Insomniac would be taking on Logan’s darker and more violent nature in Marvel’s Wolverine. Mirroring the approach of 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Additionally, fan-favourite Wolverine voice actor Steve Blum posted an exciting message on social media earlier this year. Because of this, fans suspected that he would reprise his role as the tough Canadian mutant.
Renowned video game leaker Daniel Richtman claims to know much more about Marvel’s Wolverine, as GamingBolt reported earlier this week.
According to Richtman, Insomniac aims to have Marvel’s Wolverine released sometime in 2025. Despite earlier claims that the game would be released next year. These leaks suggested that the game might be delayed internally so that Insomniac could focus on finishing Spider-Man 2. If Richtman is correct, it might very well be.
Daniel Richtman’s latest claims support the previous rumours as well. According to them, Marvel’s Wolverine would occur at least partially in Madripoor. In the fictional Southeast Asian city that was briefly featured in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Some of Wolverine’s most famous comic book stories take place on the crime-ridden island. So many agree that this is a natural location for his next solo act.
Additionally, according to Richtman, Marvel’s Wolverine will have a darker and more mature tone than Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, which creative director Brian Horton hinted at shortly after the game was announced in 2021.
Given the high standards and chart-topping success of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and its predecessors, fans are curious to see how Insomniac handles Logan in Marvel’s Wolverine. The fact that much of the upcoming game is still shrouded in mystery only adds to that excitement. Players probably won’t get an answer until 2025. At least if Daniel Richtman is to be believed. If his claims are valid, the game could also be one of the darkest and most brutal Marvel titles ever made.
