This RPG Hasn’t Even Been Released Yet, It’s Already Taking Steam By Storm!

The open-world RPG, which recently received a release date, has already become one of the best-selling games on Steam…

A new open-world RPG has hit the Steam sales charts before it’s even been released, based on wildly successful pre-orders alone.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is already a great success on Steam, as it has also been added to the Top Sellers list of Valve’s store. The early success follows Capcom’s announcement that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be released on March 22, 2024, as previously leaked.

The release date confirmation comes from the latest Dragon’s Dogma 2 trailer, which offers new plot and gameplay details for the upcoming open-world RPG.

The November 28th event was followed by the start of the game’s pre-order period. The latter started a day later, so yesterday.

The power of pre-orders alone has already catapulted the Steam version of Dragon’s Dogma 2 to the top of the platform’s sales charts. It is currently ranked ninth. This ranking puts it directly above Apex Legends. Ashborne Games and THQ Nordic recently released the Last Train Home RTS. To be clear, the Steam Top Sellers list includes both paid and free-to-play titles from Valve’s platform. The ranking is determined by the aggregate sum of all revenue streams of a given game group over a short period of time.

Steam Top 10 Best Sellers November 29, 2023

  • Steam Deck
  • Lethal Company
  • PUBG: Battlegrounds
  • Call of Duty
  • Call to Arms – Gates of Hell: Ostfront
  • Dead by Daylight
  • EA Sports FC 24
  • Last Train Home
  • Dragon’s Dogma 2
  • Apex Legends

The open-world RPG’s strong start to pre-orders is impressive. Especially since Capcom started raising the prices of PC games in connection with Dragon’s Dogma 2. The Standard edition of the game thus costs $69.99. The Deluxe Edition will cost owners $10 more. Although the latter includes quite a variety of early bonuses, $70 games are still not considered normal in the PC space. At least compared to current generation consoles…
