Shenmue 3 was recently in the news a lot of times, especially since the announcement of the game during the E3 presentation of Sony. But now, its Kickstarter campaign has ended, and it broke a record too in the end. We honestly expected this to happen, we’re willing to admit it.
In the category of videogames, Shenmue 3 ended up taking the first place in the final days. With its 69320 backers, Yu Suzuki and his team got 6.333.295 dollars, which is obviously way over the original target of $2 million – congratulations!
With this result, Shenmue 3 took over Koji Igarashi’s Bloodstain’s place at the top. The game will receive funding by Sony in one way or another, but the amount isn’t disclosed. Perhaps Hideo Kojima should set a campaign up himself for Silent Hills (we wrote about it earlier), so this Konami project wouldn’t die.
Shenmue 3 will be out by the end of 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and PC according to the current informations we have.
