Often seen on the console version of Xbox Game Pass or on some tier of PlayStation Plus, rumors are that PC gamers may be in for a treat, even though it’s an evergreen title.

A Rockstar Games leaker, Tez2, has posted that something might happen that hasn’t happened before. Grand Theft Auto V will be a PC Game Pass expansion, and we’ve never seen anything like it because it’s only been on consoles (Grand Theft Auto Online is making the publisher so much money). It’s also been over nine years since Grand Theft Auto V was released on PC (April 14, 2015, a year and a half after the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 launch), and it’s available on Steam, the Epic Games Store (it was free here for a short time in 2020), and the Rockstar Games Launcher.

It’s currently available for around $15. As an evergreen title, it’s in almost everyone’s library, though it’s technically outdated compared to current-gen versions, as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series have the ray-tracing features that the PC port doesn’t. (Also, the GTA+ subscription is only available on those consoles, leaving PC users in the dust…)

Grand Theft Auto V is the second best-selling game of all time, with more than 200 million copies sold. It is only beaten by Minecraft, which has sold more than 300 million copies, but it has a much larger audience than Rockstar’s product, which has also not received any single-player DLC, as we have already reported that Rockstar Games has focused on Grand Theft Auto Online, so Agent Trevor, for example, has not reached the audience in its original form.

The PC Game Pass release of Grand Theft Auto V is not official yet, but to be honest, it wouldn’t be a big surprise, as it’s another way Take-Two is trying to raise awareness for the franchise, with Grand Theft Auto VI coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in about a year.
