Release Date Announced for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on Older Consoles!

Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars for Star Wars Jedi will be released on consoles in 2013, but at least the prev-gen port will happen…

It’s been over a year and a quarter since Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, and EA App, the successor to Origin) on April 28, 2023, so it’s been fifteen months and we just learned when it will arrive on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It’s not very common for AAA games to be released for previous console generations these days, as the current one launched almost four years ago, and it usually takes 6-7 years per generation.

Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment have announced that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor are now available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store. The previous-gen version will cost $50, which is a lot of money for a game that’s almost a year and a half old, but we’re happy to see that the old consoles will finally get the port on September 17th. These two versions will also receive several optimizations to maximize the hardware capabilities of the consoles. It’s likely that the resolution and graphical detail will be significantly reduced to ensure that the frame rate remains excellent. At the moment we don’t know what to expect.

The PC port of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will also receive an update in the coming weeks to improve the technical performance and usability of the game, as well as some quality of life improvements. So in addition to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, Respawn is also planning to update the PC port.

The only question now is whether we will be disappointed with the version for the old consoles. Respawn also released Titanfall for Xbox 360, but they didn’t do the port, Bluepoint Games, the remaster king, did…
