Destiny is using cross-generation saves between PS3 and PS4

There’s one thing many gamers have been asking for: it’s the possibility to import their save data from the previous generation to the next generation. True, some games have offered this feature, but it’s unusual to see ones that not only allow you to take your multiplayer progress but also single player progress too. Well, with Destiny, Bungie is letting you doing that.

Bungie recently addressed claims that players who have the Destiny Beta on PS4 and PS3 have been able to take their Guardian across both consoles, provided that they’re logged into the same account. The claims are true and here’s what Bungie had to say:

Just like hopping worlds, you can use the same Guardian on Next Gen and Legacy Gen consoles – so long as you stay in the same system. Ergo, you can move from PlayStation to PlayStation and from Xbox to Xbox, but not across product lines.

So that settles that. You can’t take them from one family to another i.e. Xbox to PlayStation, but one generation to another is just as good.
