Sony buys OnLive… and closes it up too

Sony is expanding. PlayStation Now is built upon Gaikai’s technology, but now the company has managed to purchase another similar service, which will be shut down on April 30. OnLive is pretty much the same thing as PS Now, although it had a microconsole and a controller too. We can pretty much throw that out, because the service will be closed entirely, refunds are not possible and our subscription will not be able to be pushed to PS Now.

Looks like the server capacity will be integrated into PS Now‘s, which is a good thing, because even this bigger budget service is far from perfect. Let’s just bid goodbye to this early gamestreaming service, that already existed back in 2008.
