PlayStation Plus is 5 years old. Happy birthday!

We could even go as far as calling June 29 a holiday, as this is the launch day of PlayStation Plus. This service has started five years ago, giving over 350 games to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita owners throughout this timeframe. Also, since the launch of the PS4, this is essential in order to use multiplayer: for example, over 270 million hours have been spent in FIFA 15, which is more than 181.2 million 90-minute football matches played.

The anniversary is going to be celebrated by Sony in a special way. Everyone, who has been a subscriber ever since day one, will receive something special. Sony didn’t detail this present to the veteran subscribers, but some commenters on the European PlayStation Blog have already told the others about it. They will receive a poster (probably a certificate) via mail by Sony to their address. Nice gesture. Hopefully they will receive them in a frame, but even if they won’t, it’s still a good PR move.

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
