Street Fighter V: there can be only one!

Capcom is trying to cut the traditions with the Street Fighter series, and it might turn out to be a very successful move later on. II, III and IV all had several versions released, which made it difficult to follow what the changes were in Super, Ultra and the other rereleases. This is going to end with V.

First off, every rebalancing/system adjusting will be available for free after purchasing the game (doesn’t matter if it’s physical or digital). The other very serious move is regarding the DLCs and post-release contents: if you play the game enough, you can get them for free! This also means Street Fighter V will have just one version released and that is it. Say goodbye to Super, Ultra and so forth. The game will launch with 16 characters and four of them will be newcomers.

The in-game economy will also get a revamp by Capcom, as there’s going to be two currencies. One of them is Fight Money: this is what you will earn by simply playing the game. This is what you can spend on the characters to get them for free. The other one is Zenny, which might be familiar to you from other Capcom franchises. This is the premium currency, which can be bought by real money, allowing access immediately to post-launch content.

Brave moves, but we have one question: will we have to play hundreds of hours to get just one character?
