In case you haven’t had a crystal clear overview of Avalanche Studios‘ Mad Max – which will launch on September 1 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC -, then this over 70 minutes long video by Polygon will definitely help you decide whether you’d like to go for this game, or Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in case you have to choose one game out of the two.

The developers have last released a AAA title five years ago with Just Cause 2, but now they will have two out in the space of three months, ad Just Cause 3 launches on December 1. Thanks to this franchise, the developers are comfortable with open world games, and in Mad Max, the vehicular combat will seemingly perfectly blend together with melee, giving a perfect ambience in the post-apocalyptic world.

This is what Avalanche is known for: you are dropped into the middle of a big area, go ahead and do what you want. This is why we think the game is hopeful – can’t wait for September 1, to be honest. However, the player wasn’t in top form in the video…
