The PlayStation is now 20 years old in North America [VIDEO]

Although the original Japanese launch of the Sony PlayStation happened in the end of 1994, the North American launch date is pretty much an iconic date now: 9/9/95. On September 9, 1995, so twenty years ago, the classic grey console has launched in North America. Europe got the PS1 twenty days later. What games were the launch titles for the PlayStation in the US? Battle Arena Toshinden, ESPN Extreme Games, Kileak: The DNA Imperative, NBA Jam Tournament Edition, Power Serve 3D Tennis, The Raiden Project, Rayman, Ridge Racer, Street Fighter:

The Movie and Total Eclipse Turbo. We don’t even remember some of them, but one thing is certain: the launch of this console has changed the market dramatically, starting a new era pretty much. Sony celebrates this anniversary with two quizes on their website. One of our editors have jumped already into it – he maxed out the easy quiz and scored 80% on the hard one respectively. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
