Nismo PlayStation GT Academy: The camp is in Abu-Dhabi

On October 5, the Nismo PlayStation Gran Turismo Academy‘s Abu-Dhabi leg has started. From 11 European countries, a total of 56 participants have come together to decide, which one of them is going to end up in Nissan’s pilot program. Of course, the judges aren’t talentless either: the lead judge is one certain Adrian Newey.

You might have heard his name from Formula-1: he worked at March/Leyton House, Williams, McLaren and Red Bull, and except for the first team, the other three teams all received championship-winning cars, scoring ten constructors’ titles in two decades. Newey has ties to Gran Turismo too: he designed the Red Bull X2010, where there was one rule: there are no rules, design your dream car! And so, he did, and the end result is a rocket on wheels – fast and relentless.

Nismo’s pilots (Nismo is the motorsport section of Nissan) ended up at various championships thanks to GT Academy, so there is a good intention behind the series.
