It’s official: European PS4 price cut!

Well then! It looks like Sony didn’t wait for Paris Game Week, so the French and the Benelux region’s early marketing was indeed timed properly for the upcoming price drop. What upcoming… it’s already in effect! According to the European PlayStation Blog, from today, the PlayStation 4 will cost 350 euros instead of 400 in Europe and 300 British Pounds instead of 350 in the United Kingdom. This is, of course, for the 500 gigabyte model, the 1 terabyte one will cost the old 500 GB PS4 price.

The question is: why didn’t Sony wait until the start of Paris Game Week? Maybe it’s because of Microsoft, because their Xbox One will get Halo 5 on October 29, not to mention Rise of the Tomb Raider in November, which will only arrive to the PS4 in 2016 November…

Did it really take Sony two years to drop the price of the PlayStation 4? Yes, but think about it: the console was cheaper than the Xbox One right from the start, plus it’s not as expensive as the PlayStation 3 was at launch, so it makes sense, isn’t it?
