PlayStation 4 vs. Xbox One – Who won in October?

Microsoft and Sony have been fighting in the current generation for two years now to get more customers on their side. Most of the time, the PlayStation 4 took the victory, but sometimes, the Xbox One also ends up being the best selling console in on of the most important markets, the United States in a few months. What about 2015’s October? Did Sony win because of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, or did the Xbox One win thanks to Halo 5: Guardians?

Let’s get to the point: October’s victor was the Xbox One, having raised its sales by 81% compared to September. Because of this, we can clearly say that exclusives still play a very important role in console sales. Sony has a quite weak exclusive line-up for 2015 (for the September-December timeframe, definitely), so it’s not surprising to see the PS4 getting beaten to the flag by Microsoft’s console.

We predict the PS4 finishing second in November again, as Rise of the Tomb Raider has a one-year timed exclusive deal on Microsoft‘s consoles. It’s still a good thing: Sony will have to work harder – competition usually brings the best out of both companies.
