Double dose of Yakuza: 0 and 5 [VIDEO]

Yes, we’re going to talk about two Yakuza games in one news article, although we did mention one of them several times in the past months. Let’s get that one out of the way first: Yakuza 5, which was released in Japan three years ago, got a localization announcement roughly two years after its initial launch. However, the game still isn’t available in English yet. This situation will change very soon. Yakuza 5 will be available in English from tomorrow (December 8), but in a digital-only form on the PlayStation Store.

Surprisingly, Yakuza Zero was also mentioned on the PlayStation Experience. The game, which has its storyline in 1988, will also get a localization! We thought that 5 was a test to see if 0 would gather enough interest. We were wrong unless they decided after seeing the pre-orders’ amount. We have to add that the game will be in English only on the PlayStation 4! Despite having a PS3 version in Japan, the trends will continue: the prev-gen versions of multiplatform releases are left behind.

Are we happy?
