Lucasfilm: Star Wars 1313 might still happen

Star Wars 1313 was looking like a very promising game, but up to now, we saw no chance of it happening. (Unless Electronic Arts picks up the pieces – remember how DICE made Star Wars Battlefront all of a sudden?) However, Lucasfilm didn’t give up on the entire thing just yet. Lucasfilm‘s boss Kathleen Kennedy has given an interview to Slashfilm, and she talked about this game as well.

Star Wars 1313 was announced at E3 2012, and in it, we would have been able to control a younger Boba Fett. Unfortunately, LucasArts was bought out by Disney, immediately cancelling the development on the spot. Still, Kennedy thinks that something might still happen eventually. „There was Star Wars 1313 the game…our attitude is, we don’t want to throw any of that stuff away. It’s gold. And it’s something we’re spending a lot of time looking at, pouring through, discussing, and we may very well develop those things further. We want to.”

Who knows? Electronic Arts has the game rights to Star Wars, so maybe EA and Lucasfilm can work together to make Star Wars 1313 happen. Boba Fett is a popular character – maybe this is why he is overpowered in Battlefront -, so there would be huge potential in the game. Or… TV series?
