Tekken 7: Harada clarifies the situation

Katsuhiro Harada, the Tekken series’ producer, got several questions on his Twitter about his latest announcement. It’s about the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One versions of Tekken 7. When he announced the arcade edition’s new update – dubbed Fated Retribution – a few days ago, console players were wondering that whether this improvement (having better graphics, not to mention a certain Akuma from Street Fighter) will be on consoles or not. He responded.

„Console = Always [the] latest version. Title will change or not… not sure right now.” This is promising – that means the game might just be called Tekken 7, content-wise, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One ports will have the same amount as the arcade original. So Akuma will be on that Blu-ray disc. (Or download, if you prefer digital.) Not to mention the better modelling, textures, costumes and fighters. Yay!

Tekken 7 – as well as Street Fighter V – will use Unreal Engine 4. Release date in 2016.
