The Division: full-on embargo to not judge early!

Ubisoft put a serious embargo on The Division, which will launch next week. The journalists and the gaming media cannot publish their reviews about the game until its servers are ready for play. The French company quickly described why they do this.

Ubisoft believes that it would be more beneficial for the MMO if the reviewers experience the game in a live community instead of a simulated population. This mentality is becoming more and more common as 2014’s Destiny by Bungie followed the same thought. On the other hand, Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall and DICE’s Battlefield 4 got early reviews before the online-focused games launched.

Ubisoft also added that filling up the servers as it was a launch day would be impossible, so the game will open up to everyone equally on March 7 (technically March 8, 12:01 AM Australian Eastern Daylight Time, but they are at least 10 hours ahead even in Europe). As a new IP, it got a record amount of people (6.4 million players) play The Division during the public beta.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title.
