New Sony Games, But Not For The Platforms You’d Think!

Sony‘s expansion isn’t happening towards the direction we would expect them to do so. Sure, the PlayStation 4K is rumored to happen, but the Japanese company has other plans as well.

ForwardWorks Corporation will open on April 1 (and this is not an April Fools joke); they will take several PlayStation franchise and their characters to create games for smartphones! Yes, Sony is going to develop titles for iOS and Android in a similar way as Nintendo does with DeNA (they already saw success with Miitomo). The company will launch with a 10 million yen capital, which is roughly 89 thousand US dollars. One of the people on the board of directors will be Andrew House, boss of Sony Computer Entertainment.

The games will be available in Japan and the Asian region – making them accessible worldwide is likely going to depend on the profit they make. There are no release dates known either – the development is probably in early stages.

April will bring another change: Sony Computer Entertainment is going to become Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
