Matt Damon is Back in Action in the Jason Bourne Preview [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – Director Paul Greengrass and actor Matt Damon shows the fans some behind-the-scenes of the long-awaited Jason Bourne thriller, which will be out in the theaters this July. Nine long years passed since Matt Damon was on the movie screens as Jason Bourne, in the 2007 film The Bourne Ultimatum. In the years that ensued, the actor stated that he wouldn’t return to the franchise unless director Paul Greengrass were at the helm, and they could find a story they both wanted to make.

Obviously, that happened. This summer, the iconic spy is back in Jason Bourne, which hits theaters July 29. To get fans ready for this pulse-pounding sequel, a new trailer arrived, going behind-the-scenes with Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass.

Matt Damon revisits his most iconic role in Bourne 5. Paul Greengrass, who was also the director of The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, is here once again and joins Damon for the next chapter of Universal Pictures’ Bourne franchise, which finds the CIA’s most lethal former operative: Jason Bourne drawn out of the shadows. Matt Damon is joined by Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel, and Tommy Lee Jones. Julia Stiles is back to reprise her role in the series. While we don’t see much of Matt Damon‘s co-stars in this preview from the Universal Pictures YouTube page, we do get some insight into the story.

Matt Damon says the first question he’s always asked when he meets fans on the street is if he’s ever going to make another Jason Bourne movie. He admits that he doesn’t mind being “followed around” by Jason Bourne because he enjoys making this film so much. The actor also says that this flick finds the title character “in a dark place,” as he’s been virtually beating up other people in brawls to cope with all the thoughts in his head. We get some footage of these underground street fights. Paul Greengrass also adds that there is a reason the CIA wants him to come back, although that idea isn’t ultimately clear at this point.

Matt Damon adds that Jason Bourne will finally get all the questions he’s been seeking his identity. While this iconic character does remember everything about his past, it’s teased that he still doesn’t know the whole story. Matt Damon teases that it’s the biggest Bourne movie they’ve ever done. We also get a glimpse at some of the footage shot in Las Vegas, which is just one of the many international locales the production used, such as Greece and other locations all throughout Europe.

Frank Marshall again produces alongside Jeffrey Weiner for Captivate Entertainment, with Greengrass, Damon, Gregory Goodman and Ben Smith also producing. Based on characters created by Robert Ludlum, the film is written by Greengrass and Christopher Rouse. Jason Bourne will hit theaters on July 29, going up against STX Entertainment’s Bad Moms. Take a look at this new behind-the-scenes preview from Jason Bourne below, and stay tuned for more on this action-packed thriller.
