This Game Should Be An Olympics Sport, Says Brand Director

This summer, we will see the summer Olympics games held in Rio. According to one of the devteams’ chiefs, their game should be part of the Olympics. No, don’t think of stuff like Tetris, Minecraft or any obscure game.

Treyarch’s director of brand development, Jay Puryear thinks that Call of Duty should be part of the Olympics. In his interview with The Daily Star, he said that there are talks about how they can get Call of Duty out there. While eSports do get more and more widespread attention (even ESPN picked it up in January), it still seems to be a thing of the far future.

Puryear thinks that an American all-star team could easily go up against the best European gamers. He also stated that Call of Duty World League is in a very strong position right now.

Treyarch‘s employee might not be far from reality, but Call of Duty Olympics isn’t likely to be true for a few more years.
