Do You Have a Warframe Account? Than You May Be in Trouble: Developer Admits a Major Hack!

Digital Extremes, developers of Warframe, admitted that over 775.000 email addresses were stolen, according to Gamesindustry.

It wasn’t even two weeks ago when they were made aware of a potential server breach that happened in November 2014. Via their Drupal SQL database, 775.749 email addresses were acquired through an exploit, which was patched by Drupal two weeks later. However, it was too late.

Quoting the devs: „The stolen data DID NOT include any account passwords, variations of passwords, hashed passwords, game account data or personal player information such as full names, addresses or other billing and payment information.”

Since the breach, they got rid of Drupal, and they no longer store account information, making players assured of more safety.

Better late than never – at least Digital Extremes confirmed that a breach happened almost two years ago.
